The district Stormarn connects through the motorway 1 the Hanse-towns Hamburg and Lübeck. Because of that, all of Stormarn's villages can be reached easly by car. From Lübeck there are ferry connections to Scandinavia as well as to the East-European area. In the south of Stormarn the motorway 24 leads to Berlin.
If you prefer the plane with
Hamburg and
Lübeck there are two airports available.
Since the15th December 2002 the local public transport in the interconnection with the Freie and Hansestadt Hamburg as well as the Schleswig-Holstein districts Stormarn, Herzogtum-Lauenburg, Segeberg and Pinneberg has been simplified. A standard tariff applies in this area for public transport.
