Bad Oldesloe - our district town


is being first recorded in the 12.century and is with that Schleswig-Holstein's oldest town. Information about the town's and cultural history is available for the visitor at the Local Museum. The town was an important handling place for cargo and goods during the heydays of the Hanse.

Today Bad Oldesloe is the district town of Stormarn and with that the seat of many public offices, boards and societies. If you take you time you will most certainly see and experience many interesting things in today's townscape.

Recommended for the visitor is for instance the market place with its Gänseliesel (goose girl) font, the guildhall as well as the civic house. The mill place with the grain mill invites as well as the 13ha big spa garden. The working place working place of Menno Simon, the founder of the Mennonites, can be seen at the town's outskirts. He lived and worked here during the 16.century.
